About the New York State Secure Choice Savings Program

Join the New York Secure Choice pilot program!

The New York State Secure Choice Savings Program (New York Secure Choice) is New York’s retirement savings program for private-sector employees who do not have access to a retirement plan at work. This new program provides an easy way for employees working in New York State to save for the future and is simple for employers to facilitate. Through automatic enrollment and payroll deduction, savers can contribute to Roth Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs).

Who can participate?

If you are a New York State employer, we invite you to sign up for our pilot program if you:

  • had 10 or more employees in the previous calendar year,
  • have not offered a qualified retirement plan in the past two years, and
  • have been in business for at least two years.

Why participate in the pilot?

If you participate, you’ll:

  • be one of the first employers to offer access to this benefit to your employees,
  • receive one-on-one support to help you navigate the program, and
  • get to share feedback that makes a difference.
